Paul Atkin

Hello and welcome to my website.

I have been involved in woodcraft for over 30 years,  and for the past 15 years have had a keen interest in historical woodware and the pole lathe. This also complements my other interest as an historical re-enactor.

I have been fortunate to meet and work with many interesting groups and people, from museums and historical societies, to members of the public attending craft events and country shows. The interest shown in these traditional crafts never ceases to surprise me.

I produce one off  items for museums and individual clients as required, and bulk turned woodware for educational use. I also have items for general sale. Most items are made on a power lathe. However, if you require it, I can produce a lot of these items on the pole lathe. Most items are turned using either green or part seasoned native hardwoods.

I can produce replicas from various sources such as archaeological drawings and photographs. As well as turned items, I make other wooden items such as stools and tables looms and benches. All items made for historical use have been researched.

Please feel free to contact me about any aspect of my work.
